Lisa Cowley has been working in the healthcare system with over eighteen years’ experience in leadership positions. Lisa is currently the Capacity Developer for the Ottawa Community Support Coalition (OCSC). With the OCSC, Lisa supports the ongoing work of the 25 member agencies in needs analysis, service development, project planning & management, as well as strengthening partnerships with the agencies that are serving older adults and adults with disabilities in the Ottawa area. Lisa graduated with honours from George Brown College with a diploma in Gerontology, as well as a certificate in Dementia Studies from Centennial College. Lisa is currently studying Health Administration with Athabasca University. Lisa’s healthcare career began when working as the Coordinator of the adult day program with the Alzheimer Society of Peel. From 2001-2007 Lisa worked with Sunrise Senior Living, as the Manager of the Alzheimer Neighbourhood, and then as the Executive Director of Sunrise Senior Living. From 2007-2010 Lisa worked within the mental health field as the Director of Provincial Programs with the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario. Before moving back to her hometown of Ottawa, Lisa finished her career in the GTA as the Director of a homeless shelter with the Salvation Army. As someone who is very passionate about home and community care, Lisa brings her experience to a number of projects and committee work at the regional level in Champlain as well as the provincial level in Ontario.
