OCSA RESOURCE CENTRE/LIBRARY

The OCSA Resource Centre supports the activities of the OCSA membership by providing material related to the not-for-profit community support sector.  Books, journals, manuals, bibliographies, videos and audio cassettes are collected, along with sample forms, surveys, policies and procedures.

New resources are purchased by the Selections Subcommittee based on library usage information and member requests.

Who can use the library?
Library resources may be borrowed by staff of all OCSA Full Member agencies and committee volunteers only.  Others may use resources at the OCSA office but cannot borrow materials. For an appointment please call or write to OCSA Library, (416) 256-3010 ext. 241 or email reception@ocsa.on.ca

How do OCSA Member Agencies borrow material?

  • resources may be requested by calling the OCSA Library at the OCSA office,  (416) 256-3010 Ext. 241, or, preferably, by fax (416) 256-3021 or email at reception@ocsa.on.ca . Members are also welcome to make an appointment to visit the office and browse through the collection.
  • material will be shipped by Canada Post or by courier (your choice).  Agencies will be invoiced for the shipping charges. 
  • the loan period is four weeks, although some resources may be renewed.

How are members using the Resource Library?

  • for program planning and improved service delivery
  • for developing policies and procedures
  • for staff training sessions
  • for client programming
  • to preview resources before purchasing them for agency/personal library
  • to acquire provincial, national and international perspectives on long-term care issues
