Janine Hopkins

Janine Hopkins is a health care executive with 20 years of leadership experience spanning strategy, health policy, strategic communications and public affairs in the public and private sectors.

Janine has a record of guiding organizations through complex change and building strong partnerships among organizations, sectors and with diverse communities, patients and caregivers.

Currently,  Janine is Chief Communications Officer at North York General Hospital (NYGH) as well as NYGH’s Administrative Lead for the North York Toronto Health Partners (NYTHP), one of Ontario’s first Ontario Health Teams.  She has served in senior leadership roles at Lakeridge Health, Cancer Care Ontario, and the Toronto Central LHIN and was a Director of Communications and senior advisor for a former Minister of Health and Deputy Premier. Prior to her roles in hospital organizations, Janine was a Principal with Canadian public affairs and strategy consultancy Santis Health where she advised a range of health care organizations, associations and non-profit clients.

Active in the community, Janine has served on the Board of Sheena’s Place and is past Board Chair of Interval House.

Janine has a Masters degree in Political Science (Public Policy and Administration) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from McMaster University.
