Shannon Ketchabaw

Director

Shannon has worked in both the community support sector and the long-term care sector for over 20 years in senior leadership roles. Prior to relocating from Timmins, she held a senior leadership position with the Golden Manor Home for the Aged. She is currently the Executive Director for Société Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin, North Bay and Districts. Since taking on this role, Shannon has been leading organizational change by modernizing financial and payroll systems, strengthening operational processes, and working toward accreditation to ensure high-quality, standards-based service delivery. She has also been focused on expanding programming into the rural areas of the geography the Society serves, enhancing access to services for communities across the region. Shannon served as Executive Director for Meals On Wheels (Sudbury) from June 2019 to December 2023, where she expanded services by introducing locally made frozen meal replacements and extending the program across northern regions. She also led the integration of technology through a comprehensive volunteer route management app, designed to support meal delivery. Shannon began her career in the community support sector and is committed to ensuring it is recognized as an essential part of health care. Her educational background includes an Administrator Leadership Certificate, a Gerontology program from George Brown College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, along with multiple health and safety certifications. She has contributed significantly to the Équipe-Santé Sudbury–Espanola–Manitoulin–Elliot Lake Ontario Health Team as a community leader and advocate. Shannon is the voice for her 11-year-old non-speaking son with autism and actively volunteers as a Director for Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre, also serving on the Patient Family Advisory Committee. Shannon lives with her husband and son in Nairn and Hyman Township, 45 minutes west of Sudbury, bringing a valuable northern perspective to her work.
